The Hoveida Family Foundation is a private philanthropic organization based in the State of Washington. We provide grants for scientific causes which would make people's lives better and those that positively impact the environment.
The Family has prospered through science and engineering education and applying that education to entrepreneurial
endeavors, creating world-class engineering businesses to create Family's wealth. In return, the Family has dedicated part of this wealth to support Sciences and Scientific philanthropic causes.
The foundation awards the majority of its grants to U.S. 501(c)(3) organizations and other tax-exempt organizations identified by our staff.
We have a strong interest in scientific and academic programs which focus on environmental, energy, and health and medical research programs as well as academic opportunities promoting science education and scientific research.
We do not make grants that would be used by an organization to influence legislation, carry on propaganda, or participate or intervene in any political campaign, or support any pursuits contrary to sound scientific principles.

Q. How do I apply for a grant from the foundation?
A. We do not make grants outside our funding philosophy. We will directly invite proposals by contacting organizations. We do not accept unsolicited proposals for grants.
Q. My funding request does not fall under any of your stated funding areas. Will I be eligible for a grant?
A. We do not make grants outside our funding priorities.
Q. I am an individual seeking financial assistance. Am I eligible for a grant?
A. In general and except in specific circumstances as noted on certain grant applications, the foundation is unable to make grants directly to individuals.
Q. I am raising money for a cause. Am I eligible for a grant?
A. We will be unable to fund your cause. The foundation makes grants to organizations directly rather than through individual fundraising activities.
Q. What documentation will grant-seekers need to submit to apply for a grant?
A. Once we solicit your organization directly to submit a proposal, the required document submittal will include: 1. A proposal summary/narrative, 2. A proposed budget, 3. An outcome monitoring and tracking framework to monitor the progress of the investment, 4. A copy of the organization’s IRS determination letter showing public charity or non-profit status.
Q. How will investment outcome be reported on?
A. A formal progress report will be used to report on progress over the course of the investment toward results. A Final Report will also be used by the grantee to provide a descriptive summary of final results (if applicable).
